About

Who We Are:

  • Good Shepherd Lutheran Church is a member of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS)

  • We are one of 1200 congregations & over 400,000 Bible believing Christians

  • We share the Good News of Jesus Christ in all 50 states, 3 provinces of Canada, and 15 countries around the world

What We Believe:

  •  We believe that God is our Almighty Creator and Preserver who reveals Himself to us in the Bible

  • Though man was once created holy, we are no longer able to follow God's will perfectly as summarized in the Ten Commandments

  • But God loves us, and so He sent His Son, Jesus, to live a perfect life in our place. On the cross Jesus bore the guilt of the sin of every person in this world

  • By His resurrection from the dead, Jesus assures us that we are at peace with God and that therefore, we have eternal life

  • The Holy Spirit creates and strengthens our faith through the gospel in Word and Sacrament

A Full-Time Christian Education

Good Shepherd Lutheran Church has established a Christian school (K-8) to assist parents in carrying out their God-given responsibility to bring up their children “in training and instruction of the Lord.”  In addition to this primary purpose, our school: 1) Provides children with a Christian environment in which God’s Word rules supreme; 2) Gives children a systematic and thorough instruction in the Word of God; 3) Gives children a thorough instruction in life’s required academic subjects; 4) Lays a solid foundation for children to serve their Lord in all they do in life.

The teachers on our faculty were trained at Martin Luther College in New Ulm, Minnesota (a four year college devoted to train teachers for our church schools).  But even more, our teachers are fully devoted to God’s Word, which is the source of our loving concern and devotion toward the children.  Our teachers work hard with our parents in order to give our children the best education possible.  In addition to academics, our school offers a full elementary level athletic program as well as other activities such as science fairs, art fairs, spelling bees and so forth.

If you would like to know more about our school, or if you would like a guided tour, please call our school office (810-742-1131), or contact our Principal.
